In July 2025, a ridge of high pressure remained persistent across much of the middle and southern United States. This led to several periods of well above normal temperatures and little to no rainfall. There was little to no severe weather across the state and no tornadoes occurred. some of the hottest temperatures during the month occurred during the second half of the month with daily high temperature climbing into the mid 90s to around 100° across much of the state. In many areas, especially across eastern Arkansas, overnight low temperatures were very warm as well. Several locations struggled to fall below 80° for several nights. A cold front did enter the state on the 31st and provided fairly widespread rain and thunderstorms to the northern half of the state. Some locally heavy rainfall occurred and a few thunderstorms produced gusty winds. While it has been a wet year across much of the state, July turned out much drier than the 6 months prior. Drought hadn't developed yet, but short term rainfall deficits were beginning to add up.
