National Weather Service United States Department of Commerce

Effective Wednesday, September 30, the National Weather Service (NWS)’s Ocean and Tsunami Center (formerly the Ocean Prediction Center) will resume issuing its 72- and 96-hour surface forecast graphical products

The temporary suspension was announced in PNS26-41: “Temporary Suspension of Ocean Prediction Center's 72- and 96-hour surface graphical products effective June 1, 2026"

The NWS is committed to delivering timely, accurate, and impactful weather and water services to protect lives and property and enhance the national economy. Mariners can also continue to get the forecasts from the NWS’s National Digital Forecast Database (NDFD) (https://digital.weather.gov) for decision support and heavy weather avoidance. In addition, the NDFD can be accessed for graphical forecasts of winds, wind gusts, wave heights, and other weather-based hazards over the oceanic domain.
