Areas of Dangerous Heat and Heavy Rain with Possible Flooding into this Weekend

Hot temperatures and high humidity are forecast to continue across much of northeast Texas into the mid-Mississippi Valley into this weekend with heat advisories in effect. Heavy to excessive rainfall occurring at times through Saturday could bring areas of flooding across parts of the central Plains into the upper Midwest/Great Lakes, and Four Corners states. A gusty northeasterly wind flow will create hazardous marine conditions for the Gulf waters as well as Lake Okeechobee and the Atlantic waters east of Palm Beach County. A high risk of rip currents remains in place as well for the Palm Beaches.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue this evening especially across the interior and Southwest Florida. The highest chances will then shift towards the eastern half of the region overnight.
