Moderate to heavy snowfall is expected in the central/southern Rockies and adjacent High Plains today. Lake-enhanced snowfall is expected downwind of the Great Lakes today. Showers and thunderstorms will be possible this evening into tonight across the western Gulf Coast states. THE OMAHA PUBLIC POWER DISTRICT REPORTS THAT FIVE SIRENS IN POTTAWATTAMIE COUNTY IOWA HAD SOUNDED FOR LESS THAN ONE MINUTE AROUND 730 AM. OPPD ADVISES THAT THERE IS NO EMERGENCY AT FORT CALHOUN STATION. THE INADVERTENT SOUNDING IS THE RESULT OF A TESTING ERROR. THE TEST WAS CANCELED. WE REPEAT OPPD ADVISES THERE IS NO EMERGENCY AT FORT CALHOUN STATION AND THE PUBLIC SHOULD DISREGARD THE INADVERTENT SIREN SOUNDING IN POTTAWATTAMIE COUNTY IOWA. $$
