Two storm systems will track through the central and eastern U.S. today through this weekend with areas of gusty winds, rain and heavy snow. Severe thunderstorms and heavy to excessive rainfall is forecast today from the Lower Mississippi River Valley to the Tennessee Valley. THE OMAHA PUBLIC POWER DISTRICT REPORTS THAT FIVE SIRENS IN POTTAWATTAMIE COUNTY IOWA HAD SOUNDED FOR LESS THAN ONE MINUTE AROUND 730 AM. OPPD ADVISES THAT THERE IS NO EMERGENCY AT FORT CALHOUN STATION. THE INADVERTENT SOUNDING IS THE RESULT OF A TESTING ERROR. THE TEST WAS CANCELED. WE REPEAT OPPD ADVISES THERE IS NO EMERGENCY AT FORT CALHOUN STATION AND THE PUBLIC SHOULD DISREGARD THE INADVERTENT SIREN SOUNDING IN POTTAWATTAMIE COUNTY IOWA. $$
