Thunderstorms and Flooding Along the Gulf Coast; Winter Returns in the Central Rockies

A stalled front along the west-central Gulf Coast will contribute to a few severe thunderstorms and heavy rain with flooding over the next couple of days. Meanwhile, a vigorous system will produce heavy snow across the central Rockies into the High Plains the next few days. Record River Flooding

March 13th - March 23rd 2019

 

Heavy rainfall over frozen soil and rapid snow melt led to record river levels across several states. The map below shows the river gauges that had record crests during the March 13th - March 23rd time period. Each point is clickable and contains the new record information as well as flooding images at some sites.
