Heavy thunderstorms will continue areas of excessive rainfall and locally considerable flooding over parts of the southern Plains into the mid-Mississippi River Valley through Friday. Heavy rainfall over frozen soil and rapid snow melt led to record river levels across several states. The map below shows the river gauges that had record crests during the March 13th - March 23rd time period.
