NOW THAT METEOROLOGICAL SUMMER (JUNE 1 THROUGH AUGUST 31) HAS ENDED...
LETS TAKE A BRIEF LOOK AT SOME CLIMATE STATISTICS TO SEE HOW IT RANKED
AT OUR FIRST ORDER CLIMATE STATIONS IN OMAHA...LINCOLN...AND NORFOLK
IN EASTERN NEBRASKA.
OVERALL...THIS WAS A SOMEWHAT UNREMARKABLE SUMMER PERIOD FOR WARM
TEMPERATURES...JUST SLIGHTLY COOLER THAN AVERAGE. THE AVERAGE NUMBER
OF 90 OR WARMER AND 100 OR WARMER DAYS WAS BELOW AVERAGE AS WELL.
FOR PRECIPITATION...IT WAS A WETTER THAN NORMAL SUMMER WITH FREQUENT
RAINFALL. IT WAS THE 19TH WETTEST SUMMER ON RECORD AT OMAHA...AND
THE 30TH WETTEST SUMMER ON RECORD AT BOTH LINCOLN AND NORFOLK.
