Thunderstorms and Heavy Rains Across Portions of the Central and Eastern US; Heat Expands to Portions of the East

Widespread showers and thunderstorms, some severe, may produce heavy downpours and flash flooding across much of the eastern and central U.S. Dangerous heat will continue in the Pacific Northwest and expand across portions of the East. SYNOPSIS: A cold front will spread snow from western Wyoming across central Wyoming Sunday night.  The heaviest bands of snow are expected from Wyoming/Salt Range, northeast across the Wind River and Southern BIghorn ranges and the adjacent river basin.  Snow will become light Monday afternoon as an Arctic airmass seeps into the area.  Lows Tuesday morning will be from 10 below to 20 below zero across most of northern and central Wyoming.  The Arctic air will remain entrenched over the area through at least Friday.
