Excessive Rainfall and Potential Tropical Cyclone in the South; Severe Thunderstorms in the Midwest

Excessive rainfall may produce locally considerable flash flooding over parts of the northwestern Gulf Coast, lower Mississippi River Valley, and Deep South through Thursday. Potential Tropical Cyclone One is forecast to become a tropical storm (Arthur) as it moves along or just off the northwestern Gulf coast through Wednesday. The November 2017 climate summaries for Big Piney, Buffalo, Casper, Greybull, Lake Yellowstone, Lander, Riverton, Rock Springs, and Worland are now available online.

November 2017 was well above normal, temperature-wise and near to below normal for precipitaton for most areas. Areas across the northwest, like Lake Yellowstone saw above normal precipitation. Although the mountains have accumulated a decent amount of snow, the area has not had much in the way of precipitation so far this season.
