Gusty Winds in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast; Atmospheric River to Impact the Northwest

Gusty winds are expected from portions of the Mid-Atlantic into the Northeast through the night following the system that brought rain to the area. An atmospheric river will move into the Northwest late today into Saturday bringing moderate to heavy rainfall, mountain snow, windy conditions, and high surf to the area over the weekend. The November 2017 climate summaries for Big Piney, Buffalo, Casper, Greybull, Lake Yellowstone, Lander, Riverton, Rock Springs, and Worland are now available online.

November 2017 was well above normal, temperature-wise and near to below normal for precipitaton for most areas. Areas across the northwest, like Lake Yellowstone saw above normal precipitation. Although the mountains have accumulated a decent amount of snow, the area has not had much in the way of precipitation so far this season.
