Many locations across western Wyoming recorded their wettest October on record.  For some locations, it wasn't even close.  Old Faithful in Yellowstone National Park recorded 8.18 inches of precipitation in October 2016, shattering their old record of 4.46 inches set in October 1908.  Most of northwest Wyoming was in moderate to severe drought conditions in early September, so these record precipitation amounts eliminated most of the drought across northwest Wyoming by mid-October.  For more October and year-to-date summaries, click here.
