Transition to OLv6 Maps

Transition to Newer CWSU OpenLayers Maps

The Seattle CWSU will begin transitioning to a newer version of the CWSU OpenLayers Maps (OLv6) from the previous version (OLv3) for the home page this summer.

If your link to the Seattle CWSU home page ( https://www.weather.gov/zse/ ) includes parameters to adjust the previous CWSU OpenLayers Map (OLv3), it will continue to use the older OLv3 maps for the time being.

If you wish to continue to use a copy of the older OLv3 CWSU OpenLayers Map, you can use the URL https://www.weather.gov/zse/OLv3 . This map will function similarly to the old map. However, this OLv3 map will be in "maintenance mode", with updates focusing on fixing errors and maintaining the current functionality. New features are unlikely to be added. To reload the page with the newer OLv6 map with most options converted, look for the "OLv6" in the lower-left corner of the OLv3 map.

Later this year, the Seattle CWSU home page will use only the newer OLv6 map. This map has more features and will continue to be updated and improved into the future. You also can use the map at the page https://www.weather.gov/zse/OLv6 .

Please consider transitioning to using the newer OLv6 Maps. To change the layers and settings for the map, hover or click on the "hamburger menu"  ☰  in the upper-left corner. You also can find a "Help" page in this menu.
