Thunderstorms and Heavy Rains Across Portions of the Central and Eastern US; Heat Expands to Portions of the East

Widespread showers and thunderstorms, some severe, may produce heavy downpours and flash flooding across much of the eastern and central U.S. Dangerous heat will continue in the Pacific Northwest and expand across portions of the East.             ROOF BLOWN OFF WAREHOUSE AT THE INTERSECTION OF FARMER
            STREET AND FAIRGROUNDS RD...IN THE WEST SECTION OF
            PETERSBURG. EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO WAREHOUSE. UTILITY POLES
            AND POWER LINES DOWN IN THE VICINITY. A STORM SURVEY HAS
            BEEN CONDUCTED AT THE SITE...AND THE DAMAGE HAS BEEN
            ASSESSED AS AN EF1 TORNADO. THE TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN
            BRIEFLY WITH A WIDTH OF 30 YARDS...AND A PATH LENGTH OF
            APPROXIMATELY 60 YARDS. NO FATALITIES OR INJURIES REPORTED.
