Gladwin/Roscommon Area Forecast
APX AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY
.DISCUSSION...
A dry airmass will remain in place through the remainder of the
week, leading to near-critical to critical RHs across parts of
northern Michigan today and Friday. Widespread RHs below 40 percent
are anticipated away from the immediate lakeshores today with
minimum RHs expected to dip into the 25-30 percent range across a
chunk of northeast lower Michigan (including the Huron National
Forest) this afternoon. Localized critical RHs (20-25 percent) will
be possible for a few hours -- especially if cloud cover is not as
expansive as currently forecast, promoting more efficient daytime
mixing. East 20 ft winds between 5-10 mph are anticipated into this
evening with occasional gusts to 15-20 mph. Afternoon temperatures
will range from the low to mid 50s close to the Lake Huron shoreline
to the upper 50s/low 60s across northwest lower.
Looking ahead, Friday may be the most concerning fire weather day
this week. Even lower minimum RHs will be possible -- RHs in the 20-
30 percent range across many interior areas with localized readings
in the teens possible across northwest lower with downsloping east
winds. 20 ft wind speeds are expected to be higher as well --
sustained 7-13 mph with gusts to 20-30 mph possible during the
afternoon. Warmer temperatures are also anticipated with highs
ranging from the upper 50s to the low 70s. Some relief is
in store this weekend as rain chances move in Saturday morning.

GRR AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY
.DISCUSSION...
High pressure north of the state will supply a dry flow from the
Northeast through Friday. This will place the warmest and driest
conditions along the Lake Michigan shoreline. A system will move
up toward the area Friday night and early Saturday. This will provide
a fairly widespread area of rain. This moves out Saturday afternoon,
with a few showers and a storm possible Sunday.

DTX AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY
.DISCUSSION...High pressure will expand across the Great Lakes today
and hold over the region through Friday. This system will sustain
cool conditions with persistent east-northeast winds. The drier
airmass will keep min RH values in the 40s today. An upper level
disturbance then drives widespread rain across the region late
Friday and Friday night. Milder temperatures with shower and
thunderstorms chances will persist through the weekend.
