The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) has extended the Air Quality Alert for all of Michigan into today due to elevated levels of fine particulate due to wildfire smoke. If possible, avoid strenuous outdoors activities, especially for those with heart disease and respiratory illnesses such as asthma. Shower/storm chances increase across northern Michigan later today into tonight. Isolated strong to severe storms are possible, with the primary threats being damaging winds, large hail and heavy downpours.
