.DISCUSSION...
MIZ001-003-131200-

Widespread 0.5 to 1 inches of rain was estimated overnight across
central/western Upper Michigan by the KMQT radar, with less than a
quarter inch of rain estimated south and east. Rainfall expected to
return this afternoon with another wave pushing through the region.
Shower/thunderstorm activity expected to focus across north-central
and eastern UP with gusty winds developing across the west half.
Expecting widespread 25-40 mph westerlies, with the highest winds
focused in the Keweenaw thanks to steep low level mixing. Daytime
temps peak in the 70s for most areas with dewpoints dipping to near
50 or the upper 40s. This should yield min RH values in the mid 40s.

A second wave of rain/thunderstorms moves into the region overnight,
stretching across the southern two thirds of the region. Rainfall is
largely expected to be light, but near or greater than 0.25 inches
is possible, mainly south-central. Shower and thunderstorm activity
may return across the east half Saturday afternoon ahead of a cold
front moving through the region.
