.DISCUSSION... High pressure overhead will keep excellent mixing
and ventilation in place today, particularly across northeast
lower Michigan (including Huron National Forest) aided by
downsloping processes. Currently seeing RHs dip into the 30s,
mainly in interior northeast lower and far northern lower, a trend
that should carry through sunset. The occasionally breezy north
to northwest wind will taper this evening, along with mixing and
ventilation quality. Looking ahead to tomorrow (Thursday), there
will be a subtle increase in surface dewpoint, but with more
downsloping potential in northeast lower owing to persistent
southwest to west flow. With highs in the 80s (warmest northeast
lower), anticipating RHs to make a dip into the 30s once more
across northeast lower, holding higher the closer one gets to Lake
Michigan. Light winds and recent will prevent this from being an
elevated fire danger day.

Looking ahead, another system will bring about scattered rain
chances, initially with thunderstorm potential Friday (maximized
over NE lower) and more showery (perhaps a rumble of thunder)
Friday night into Saturday. AS such, wind patterns and humidities may
be subject to rapid changes in the vicinity of or within
thunderstorms.

.DISCUSSION...
MIZ001-003-301200-

No fire weather concerns are expected today through the rest of the
week as high pressure ridging today gives way to rain showers and
non-severe thunderstorms late Thursday into Saturday. While we could
see some showers and thunderstorms this afternoon thanks to the lake
breezes, expect the convection to be limited to the interior west
and central at up to around a 30% chance; aside for some isolated
spots, no wetting rainfall (quarter inch or greater) is expected
this afternoon. With more showers and non-severe thunderstorms
coming late Thursday into Saturday, we could see a wetting rainfall
across the area for at least one day across the entire U.P. (40-75%
chance according to the NBM), with the greatest chances over the
west; this will hopefully alleviate drought conditions over in the
western portions of Upper Michigan. MinRHs remain above 30% and
winds remain light through the rest of this week into next week.
