Overview

A complex spring storm system brought a myriad of weather conditions to southeast Minnesota, northeast Iowa, and western and central Wisconsin April 13-15, 2018. Numerous types of weather and precipitation were noted during this period, including thunderstorms with large hail on Friday the 13th, heavy sleet, snow, and wind on Saturday the 14th, and additional periods of heavy snow into Sunday the 15th. Some locations north of Interstate 90 picked up in excess of one foot of new snow during the storm, while many other areas experienced significant reductions to visibility due to wind gusts of 40-45 mph and blowing and drifting snow.
