Bismarck Radar Outage

Repairs are underway to the Bismarck National Weather Service Doppler radar to fix the equipment malfunction that the radar suffered early Monday morning, June 19th. If all goes well, the radar may return to service by Thursday afternoon.  Surrounding radars that can be used in the meantime are located near Minot, Mayville, Aberdeen and Rapid City, South Dakota, and Glasgow, Montana. The National Weather Service office in Bismarck will also use those surrounding radars along with data from the new GOES-16 weather satellite to complete forecast and warning responsibilities during the radar outage.
