A front will bring chances for showers and thunderstorms over the Central Rockies and Southern Plains. Heavy rains are also possible in southern Arizona. A dangerous heat wave continues across the Pacific Northwest. Hot, dry conditions and lightning may cause new fire starts across the Cascades.
