A period of light snow is expected this morning, with snow amounts anywhere from a quick dusting to a few inches. A cold front will bring additional snow showers and possible snow squalls this afternoon into the evening. Hazardous travel conditions will be possible, so stay alert and be sure to use caution!
Moderate to localized Heavy snow showers with embedded snow squalls are possible between 4 and 10 PM, mainly east of the St. Lawrence Valley. Some areas could see multiple rounds of snow showers/squalls outside of the main line which is denoted above. Snow showers clear most of the area after midnight. Snow accumulations will mainly be less than an inch, outside of the higher terrain where up to 1.5" is possible. Stay alert when driving through heavy snow or snow squalls and be prepared for changeable conditions.
This winter season so far has been colder than normal with lots of ice development of ponds, rivers and lakes. Although this allows a platform for winter recreational activities, just remember that NO ICE is 100 percent SAFE, especially as we approach Spring and milder temperatures. Use caution ALL SEASON and look at these guidelines.
