1990

10th-11th…Low pressure from Indiana tracked east across the area dropping heavy rains over soil already saturated from snowmelt. Record precipitation of 1.66 inches fell at the Buffalo Airport. Reports from around the area ranges from 1 to 1¾ inches of rain. The heavy rains caused area rivers and streams to rise to bankful. Urban and poor drainage flooding was also reported. Some basement flooding occurred in Batavia, Genesee county. Tonawanda creek at Batavia crested about a half-foot above flood stage.

1993

Rain and snowmelt caused the Black River in the North country to rise above flood stage to record levels. At Watertown, the river crested at 14.2 feet. Vast areas of agricultural lands were flooded in Lewis county. Hundreds of head of livestock had to be relocated. Dozens of road were closed and homes had to be evacuated.
