APRIL 22

1985

At Buffalo, a high temperature of 77 degrees on the 22nd broke the record of 76 set in 1957 and 1973. The high of 88 degrees on the 23rd not only broke a 100 year record for that date, but also set a new record for the highest temperature ever recorded on any date during the month of April. Many trees and flowers started to bud early due to the warm days and fairly mild nights which occurred during the latter part of the month. This also enabled farmers to get an early start plowing fields and readying them for spring planting.

1991

Over two inches of rain fell on already saturated ground causing road and basement flooding. The Black Creek near Churchville crested just above the flood stage of six feet. The Oatka and Sandy Creeks also flooded their banks.

1993

Low pressure over Delaware deepened and moved north along the Atlantic Coast to New England. The late winter storm spread heavy, wet snow across the eastern Lake Ontario counties. Snowfalls of six to nine inches were reported.
