JUNE 28
1957 June 28th-29th...the remnants of Hurricane Audrey combined with another low center over the Lower Lakes region and produced one of the worst June storms of record and established a new record low sea-level pressure (29.04 inches) for the month of June. Heavy rains...1.73 inches in 24 hours (28th-29th)...preceded the storm. The resulting gale on the 29th caused some of the worst damage to power lines in 30 years. One man was killed by a falling wire. Minor tree and crop damage resulted from the winds and rains. 1998 A thunderstorm produced several inches of rain over the already hard hit area of Arcade, Wyoming county. The flash flooding which resulted washed out a section of Java Lake Road. 2006 Showers and thunderstorms accompanied the passage of a cold front during the afternoon hours. The thunderstorms produced damaging winds and large hail. Winds downed trees in Clifton Springs, Webster, Belmont, and Cato. A garage door was blown-in in Webster. Hail up to 1.75 inch fell in Lakewood, South Dayton, Clyde and Penfield.
