Extreme heat will continue in the interior Northwest into midweek before finally waning. Hot temperatures, dry, gusty winds, and isolated dry thunderstorms will bring critical fire weather. Rating: EF-0 Estimated Peak Wind: 75 mph Path Length /statute/: 1.0 miles Path Width /maximum/: 50 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: July 10, 2024 Start Time: 1:42 PM ET Start Location: Town of Darien, Genesee County, NY Start Lat/Lon: 42.9344 / -78.3126 End Date: July 10, 2024 End Time: 1:46 PM ET End Location: Town of Alexander, Genesee County, NY End Lat/Lon: 42.9466 / -78.3017 Video evidence was forwarded to the National Weather Service by trained spotters showing a brief tornado touchdown along Halsted Road in the Town of Alexander. A National Weather Service Storm Survey was conducted and followed a path of tree damage from the location of the video southwest crossing Dodgeson Road in the town of Darien. Tree damage mostly consisted of large branches being mangled in trees along the one mile path of the tornado.
