Storm Impacting the Southwest U.S.; Above Normal Temperatures Further East

A storm system will shift across the southwest U.S. through Thursday with widespread showers and isolated thunderstorms. Isolated flooding is possible. Overview

An area of low pressure tracked east southeast across the Great Plains and into northern Missouri early Monday. This system spread snow over portions of South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Illinois during the evening hours on Sunday, March 12th and early Monday, March 13th. The heaviest snowfall fell in a line from eastern South Dakota into Northern Iowa, where totals over 6 inches were common.
