Isolated to scattered storms are expected to develop over west Texas and Mexico late this afternoon and move eastward this evening. Large hail and damaging winds will be the main threats, although an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out. Always have a way to receive weather information!
Strong to potentially severe thunderstorms are possible again today, mainly for western and central counties this afternoon and this evening. Best chances for rain will be over eastern counties this morning and for western counties for early this evening, but most areas should expected to see less than a 30 percent chance of measurable rainfall in the late morning and afternoon hours. Humid and seasonally warm conditions will continue with highs mainly in the mid 80s east to mid 90s west.
Low to medium chances for showers and thunderstorms continue through the weekend. A few storms could become severe and produce locally heavy rainfall. Rain chances decrease Monday. Then, hot and humid conditions are forecast for the middle of next week.
