Showers and thunderstorms are expected from Texas to the Northeast through Tuesday. Heavy rain will create mainly localized areas of flash flooding across the central Gulf Coast into the Appalachians. There is a Level 2 of 5 risk for severe storms across the Rio Grande plains, Edwards Plateau, and western Hill Country, with a Level 1 of 5 risk farther east for most of the rest of South-Central Texas. Storms could begin as early as late Tuesday afternoon and continue until Wednesday morning. Large hail and damaging winds are the main severe weather concerns. High temperatures will range from the lower 80s to lower 90s today. Mainly afternoon showers and storms will be possible for areas generally along and north of Interstate 10.
Skies will be partly cloudy to mostly clear. There will be a less than 20% chance for showers and thunderstorms over the northeast this evening. Low temperatures will range from the mid 60s to the low 70s.
