Above Normal Temperatures, Strong Thunderstorms, Tropical Development Being Monitored

Well above normal temperatures are forecast to shift from the northern Plains through the Northeast U.S. over the long holiday weekend. A few strong to severe thunderstorm will be possible as well along with a potential for excessive rainfall. A Flood Watch has been issued through 7 PM Saturday. Additional rainfall amounts of 2-4 inches are possible with isolated pockets of 10 inches somewhere in the watch area. It is very difficult to pinpoint where exactly the isolated heavy amounts will occur in this pattern. Stay Weather Aware!
Shower and thunderstorm activity continues tonight with isolated to moderate rain episodes. Can't rule out a few heavy downpours through the period. Stay weather aware and away from flooded areas.
Rain chances continue on Saturday, however, dry weather conditions are in store from early to middle of next week.
