Strong southwest winds increase through the day, tapering off this evening. A High Wind Warning is in effect for much of the region with a Wind Advisory in effect for the Yavapai Mountains. Along with the winds comes our first taste of increasing fire danger. Critical Fire Weather conditions are expected to develop in southern Apache County on Sunday. Be careful if spending time outdoors today!
Various hazards for today include strong winds over much of the area with a High Wind Warning and Wind Advisory in effect. Dry conditions have resulted in a Red Flag Warning for east-central Arizona.
Strong low pressure will cross to the north of the area today. Some showers will move through, mainly over the Kaibab Plateau to the western Mogollon Rim and towards the Four Corners. Rainfall amounts will be less than 0.25". Snow showers are possible down to 7000 feet.
