Coastal Threats for the East and Gulf; Record Warmth for the Central U.S.

Persistent onshore flow across the Southeast and portions of the mid-Atlantic will keep the risk of rip currents through the weekend. Rainfall could be locally heavy across Florida, especially along the eastern shoreline. Meanwhile, record warmth for portions of the Plains and Midwest with elevated fire concerns. UNAVAILABLE FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD...

Due to a communications network outage in the Federal Aviation
Administration, data from some observing systems in western North
Carolina will be unavailable for an extended period...perhaps for as
long as a month. Although the National Weather Service is a user of
this data, the automated systems and their communications lines are not
maintained by the Weather Service.
