Flooding Risks from Tropical Moisture Across the Intermountain West and East Coast

Tropical moisture from Isaias and Rachel will impact portions of the Intermountain West and East Coast states. Flooding, gusty winds and even a threat for severe thunderstorms and tornadoes are possible. Meanwhile, record warmth will spread northward across the Mississippi Valley the next few days. Overview

A disturbance passed across Kentucky on March 17th. Scattered thunderstorms developed and quickly turned severe during the evening hours. Storms were responsible for bringing down trees and causing minor structural damage. Some hail reports in excess of an inch were also reported. Severe weather was concentrated in areas south of the Mountain Parkway.
