Severe Thunderstorms in the Southern U.S.; Heavy Snow in the North-Central U.S.

Isolated severe thunderstorms are likely across parts of the Southeast/Deep South Tuesday morning into early evening. A couple tornadoes are possible in parts of eastern Mississippi and Alabama. In the north-central U.S., a storm will bring heavy snow and gusty to high winds over parts of the northern Plains and Upper Midwest Tuesday before impacting the Great Lakes Wednesday into Thanksgiving. Thru Nov 17th, 2018 is the 5th wettest year on record at the Jackson Weather Office, only 4.21" behind the wettest year (1989). With around 6 weeks until the end of the year, 2018 has plenty of time to climb the rankings. At least another 0.50" to 0.75" of precipitation is possible through the end of November. Meanwhile, Jackson December normal precipitation is 4.18"
