Above normal temperatures are expected to begin today, with highs ranging from the upper 80s to 90s. Heat indices will climb into the upper 90s and low 100s. While temperatures may not reach record-breaking levels, they will fall just a few degrees short.
The attached GIF displays the forecasted heat risk for the next seven days. Today, only minor impacts are anticipated. However, beginning tomorrow, widespread moderate heat risk conditions are expected to persist, with some areas experiencing major to even extreme levels. A legend explaining these risk categories is provided at the bottom of the image.
Please note: the dewpoint sensor at the Allen Parish site has been reporting unusually high values. This may result in an overestimation of the heat risk in that area.
