A Heat Advisory is in effect for from 1 PM to 9 PM for the SE TX Panhandle and northern Rolling Plains. Temperatures near 105 degrees are expected here, and high humidity will result in heat index values up to 108 degrees.

Widespread temperatures of at least 105 degrees can be expected on Monday.

Hot temperatures will stick around Sunday afternoon with most areas seeing at least 100 degrees.

Mild temperatures will continue overnight tonight and hot temperatures are here to stay on Monday.

Triple digit temperatures and dry weather will continue every day this week.

During heat waves, be sure to take proper precautions if you must be outside. NEVER leave children or pets unattended in vehicles.

Local Weather History For July 26th...

1978: Early this evening, a large thunderstorm complex developed near Wilson in Lynn County and caused damage over an
extensive area of northeast Lynn County. Small hail driven sideways by winds of unknown intensity caused $10,000 worth of
damage to area compresses, plate glass and windows. Over 12,000 acres of crops sustained hail and wind damage estimated at
$75,000. Similar storms struck northwest King County a short while later damaging or destroying 8500 acres of cotton
valued at $55,000.
