Hot temperatures are expected for the far SE Texas Panhandle and portions of the northern and eastern Rolling Plains Friday. A heat advisory is in effect from 12 PM through 8 PM today for these areas.

Dry and quiet weather continues through Friday with dangerous heat expected Friday afternoon.

1973: Late this evening, a southwest-moving severe thunderstorm produced hail to the size of golf balls over a small area
southwest of Wolfforth. Some cotton fields and automobiles were damaged by the hail, at times driven by wind gusts to 60
mph.
