Overview

A slow moving front stalled across the Tidewater of Virginia, southwest into Georgia Jan 3rd. Meanwhile, a secondary low formed on this front while colder air from an upper level disturbance moved across the southern Appalachians. These two combined to bring a changeover of rain to snow. The system exits by early Monday afternoon. Ground temperatures vs snowfall rate led to how much accumulated.
