Fire Weather Planning Forecast for SW VA...SE WV and NW NC
National Weather Service Blacksburg VA
347 AM EST Fri Nov 7 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Southwest winds will increase today ahead of an approaching
cold front. Gusts of 20 to 30 mph will be possible, but relative
humidities should only drop into the 50-60% range due to more
moist flow and increasing clouds. Wetting rain is likely to
occur tonight, but amounts will not be impressive at around
0.10-0.40 inches forecast for areas west of the Blue Ridge. Areas
east of the Blue Ridge will likely see less than 0.10 inches of
rainfall. A brief break in the rainfall is expected Saturday
before another upper level system returns rain to the area
overnight Saturday and into Sunday. An arctic airmass will
bring windy and cold conditions to the area Sunday night into
Monday with snow showers and flurries expected for mountain
locations Monday and Tuesday.
