Fire Weather Planning Forecast for SW VA...SE WV and NW NC
National Weather Service Blacksburg VA
305 AM EDT Sun May 24 2026

.DISCUSSION...

Daily showers/storms will continue throughout the upcoming week
due to a stalled frontal boundary that remains draped across the
Mid-Atlantic. Above normal moisture will persist, allowing
additional rainfall of 0.75 to 2.00". This will keep fire weather
in check, as the weather pattern will remain unchanged for at
least the next 5-7 days.
