Hail, Damaging Winds, and Tornadoes Possible Monday

Severe thunderstorms on Monday will be capable of producing damaging wind gusts, hail, and tornadoes. While the entire region will have a potential, the highest potential will be east of the Blue Ridge. A lesser risk of severe storms will be possible Sunday afternoon and evening for far southwest VA and northwest NC. These storms will be capable of localized damaging winds or an isolated tornado. Increasing moisture today will bring clouds and onset of
rain by this afternoon mainly along and east of the Blue Ridge.
Min RH values will elevated in the 50s today for most.
A line of heavy downpours with thunderstorms arrives Monday.
Damaging winds may occur especially along and east of the Blue
Ridge. 
 
Strong gusty winds can be expected behind the front
Monday night and Tuesday along with much colder temperatures. 

May start to see more favorable weather for prescribed burns by the
end of the week.
