Fire Weather Planning Forecast for SW VA...SE WV and NW NC
National Weather Service Blacksburg VA
333 AM EDT Sun Jun 1 2025

.DISCUSSION...
A stationary front extends from North Carolina to central
Kentucky. This front will be the focus for scattered showers and
thunderstorms for the Carolinas today. Meanwhile, an area of
high pressure will build from the Great Lakes into the northern
Mid-Atlantic, providing fair weather for the Virginias. It will
remain unseasonably cool with high pressure becoming established
region-wide by Monday. After Monday the high will move to along
the mid-Atlantic coast, southwest winds developing on the back
side of the high and resulting in a significant warm-up for
mid-week. The week as a whole is also looking dry with no
significant chance of rain until Friday.
