Fire Weather Planning Forecast for SW VA...SE WV and NW NC
National Weather Service Blacksburg VA

.DISCUSSION...

Temperatures increase steadily through the end of the week, with
very warm temperatures in the 80s/90s expected by Friday across
the mountains/Piedmont respectively. Dry weather persists
areawide, with minimum RHs between 20% to 35% for most, and
between 40% to 50% for some of the mountains over the southern
Blue Ridge and parts of southeast WV, through Saturday afternoon.
However, winds do remain light. A cold front dips south into the
region late Sunday, which will bring the next opportunity for
showers and thunderstorms. Rainfall amounts look to be less than
a third of an inch across the area, and the probability for half
an inch of rain or greater is less than 15%.
