Fire Weather Planning Forecast for SW VA...SE WV and NW NC
National Weather Service Blacksburg VA
239 AM EST Fri Mar 6 2026

.DISCUSSION...

Increased moisture areawide combined with a wavy warm front north
of the region will lead to isolated shower and thunderstorm
chances across mostly northern mountain locations today. A cold
front looks to push through the area Saturday and Sunday,
bringing a more widespread chance for rainfall and thunderstorms.
Above normal temperatures are expected to continue
across the region; however, minimum RH values look to remain at
acceptable levels, and should not be a concern. There are
currently no fire weather concerns at this time.
