.DISCUSSION...

Warmer than normal temperatures and mainly dry weather is
expected today, though there is a slight chance of showers and
storms over North Carolina into far southwest Virginia. The
pattern turns stormier heading into the weekend and early next
week with a frontal boundary stalled just to the north of the
area. The weekend and into the beginning of next week will not be
a total washout, but has daily chances of afternoon showers and
thunderstorms. Saturday and Sunday look to be the most active days
at this time.
