.DISCUSSION...

...Heads up for severe storms Thursday...
...It will also be windy...

Unsettled weather is expected for Thursday into early
Friday. A strong cold front will cross the area
Thursday afternoon and evening, preceded by gusty
surface winds and very warm temperatures. Scattered
strong to severe thunderstorms are expected Thursday
afternoon and evening. The storms may contain damaging
winds resulting in downed trees.

We are also be tracking Tropical Storm Arthur, the
first named tropical storm of the season. This feature
is expected to move across the southeast states
Thursday into Friday. Some of this moisture may
impact our North Carolina Counties Thursday night
but it appears the bulk of the moisture from this storm
will remain south of our local region.
