Fire Weather Planning Forecast for SW VA...SE WV and NW NC
National Weather Service Blacksburg VA
352 AM EST Wed Feb 11 2026

.DISCUSSION...

Warm and mostly dry conditions are expected through the remainder
of the work week, with some light rain tapering off over the mountains
this morning. Better rainfall chances expected with a system this weekend.

Gusty winds this afternoon, which will contribute to drying and lowering
RH's. However, with high temperatures expected to be above freezing this
week, significant melting areawide is expected. This should increase
soil moisture and leave behind moist ground cover across the region.
Given these conditions, there are currently no fire weather concerns.
