Fire Weather Planning Forecast for SW VA...SE WV and NW NC
National Weather Service Blacksburg VA
218 AM EST Sat Feb 21 2026

.DISCUSSION...

Expect increased humidity today with a chance for rain
mainly along and south of the VA/NC border. Strong storm
system brings wetting rain then snow to the area tonight
into Sunday with snow showers accumulating in the mountains
through Monday night as temperatures return to below
normal. Northwest winds will be blustery Sunday into
Monday evening.

After the chill into Monday, temperatures moderate again by the
middle next week before another front arrives with more rain
chances Thursday.
