Fire Weather Planning Forecast for SW VA...SE WV and NW NC
National Weather Service Blacksburg VA
229 AM EDT Fri Sep 18 2026

.DISCUSSION...

A cold front over the Great Lakes is forecast to move south
and stall over the region. This will bring daily opportunity
for scattered showers and thunderstorms through the upcoming
weekend.

In spite of the hit and miss nature of the showers, the higher
dewpoints and humidity should mitigate fire concerns.
