Fire Weather Planning Forecast for SW VA...SE WV and NW NC
National Weather Service Blacksburg VA
158 PM EST Tue Jan 20 2026

.DISCUSSION...
A very dry airmass remains in place through Wednesday evening,
leading to low humidity values. Humidity minimums of 20 to 30
percent are possible Wednesday afternoon with gusty SW winds.
This will result in good drying conditions, with fine fuels
becoming receptive to fire. This would be the last "good"
burning day this week with plenty of precipitation on the way.
