Fire Weather Planning Forecast for SW VA...SE WV and NW NC
National Weather Service Blacksburg VA
300 AM EST Tue Mar 3 2026

.DISCUSSION...

Precipitation should come to an end across the area early this
morning. A warming trend looks to persist through the weekend and
into early next week starting Wednesday. The area will see well above
normal temperatures areawide, with chances for isolated to scattered
showers and thunderstorms returning to the area Friday and continuing
through the weekend. Mountain locations look to have the best chances
for these showers and thunderstorms during the aforementioned time
period. There are currently no fire weather concerns, as moisture being
advected into the region from the south should keep RH values elevated
during the warm days ahead this week.
