Fire Weather Planning Forecast for SW VA...SE WV and NW NC

.DISCUSSION...

...Drying is expected to continue Saturday...

While widespread gusty winds continue to diminish into Saturday,
minimum RH values in the low to mid 20s and temperatures climbing
into the low 60s west of the Blue Ridge, and mid to upper 60s
east of the Blue Ridge. With warm temperatures, and mostly sunny
skies combined with low RH values, fuels will continue to dry
across the region. Given that winds should be continuing to
diminish across the region into the 10-15 mph range by the
mid morning hours on Saturday, the fire weather threat is
expected to lower throughout the day. With the previous system
over performing on Thursday, enough rainfall fell that fire
weather concerns should remain minimal for the region.

Moisture returns late Sunday into Monday as a strong storm
system crosses the region.
