.DISCUSSION...

Dry conditions are forecasted for today areawide under mostly 
sunny skies. Winds today will be from the northwest, with gusts
holding at 10 mph or less. Afternoon minimum RH will fall to 
around 35 percent across the Piedmont, with the mountains at
40 percent or higher.

Showers and thunderstorms will return on Thursday, resulting in 
rounds of wetting rainfall. This activity will be scattered on 
Thursday, with signals that heavy rain will occur from the foot-
hills of North Carolina through the Southside of Virginia on 
Friday evening. Scattered wetting rainfall will continue on 
Saturday before drier air returns on Sunday.
