.DISCUSSION...

...Increased Fire Danger Possible for Sunday Afternoon...

After drying out today with dewpoints falling into the teens and
gusty northwest winds this morning, fire weather concerns will
increase again on Sunday afternoon due to relative humidities
falling towards 20 to 25 percent and winds shifting to the south
and gusting towards 15 to 25 mph. Fine fuels are becoming more
susceptible due to little rainfall from the past frontal
passage, especially along and west of the Blue Ridge. As a
result, a more widespread fire danger statement is being
considered for Sunday afternoon. Fire weather concerns should
ease by Monday as more moisture is advected from the Gulf to
raise the relative humidity. The next chance of wetting rain
may not come until late Wednesday into Thursday.
