Showers and Storms in the East; Dangerously Hot and Dry in the West

A frontal boundary will bring scattered showers and storms to portions of the Central and Eastern U.S. through the end of the week. Meanwhile, dangerous heat will intensify across the Intermountain West and expand into the Central U.S. by early next week. .DISCUSSION...
Unsettled weather will continue through the remainder of this 
week with scattered showers and thunderstorms each day, 
primarily during the afternoon. The air mass will remain humid
with relative humidity values staying elevated. Winds should
remain rather light for much of the area except in stronger 
thunderstorms. Due to the abundant moisture and prolonged 
chances of rain, fire weather concerns will remain low.
