Fire Weather Planning Forecast for SW VA...SE WV and NW NC
National Weather Service Blacksburg VA
228 AM EDT Wed Jul 15 2026

.DISCUSSION...

Dry weather is expected to last until Friday for much of the
area.

Temperatures will increase significantly, with 80s/90s to near
100 degrees by later this week for urban areas and the Piedmont.
Minimum RH values will fall into the 30 to 40 percent range for
portions of the area today through Friday. Due to high
pressure being overhead, winds are expected to remain light until
Saturday. Friday into the weekend looks to see an increased
chance of showers and storms.
