Fire Weather Planning Forecast for SW VA...SE WV and NW NC

.DISCUSSION...

Moisture will gradually increase today into the weekend as a
cold front approaches from the Great Lakes region. Coverage
of showers and thunderstorms today will be isolated to widely
scattered, however coverage will increase for Saturday as the
cold front draws closer. Despite smoke from wildfires in
Canada passing across the region, strong heating today will
allow for minimum RH values this afternoon to fall as low as
30 percent across the Piedmont, and hold above 35 percent
over the mountains. Winds today will remain less than 10 mph
areawide.
