Fire Weather Planning Forecast for SW VA...SE WV and NW NC
National Weather Service Blacksburg VA
259 AM EDT Fri Aug 14 2026

.DISCUSSION...

Scattered shower and thunderstorm activity will increase today and
Saturday across the region as mid and upper level disturbances track
through the region along a stationary front. Humidity levels look
to remain elevated through much of the week, which will keep minimum
RH values in the 50-60 percent range or higher. Storm chances stay with us
into next week but some days will have widely scattered coverage.
Overall, there are minimal fire weather concerns at this time across the
region.
