Fire Weather Planning Forecast for SW VA...SE WV and NW NC
National Weather Service Blacksburg VA
406 AM EDT Sat Jul 25 2026

.DISCUSSION...

High pressure will remain situated across the lower Mid-Atlantic
this morning, though will gradually weaken through the day. This
will allow for a modest decrease of clouds during the afternoon
and evening, with mostly dry conditions forecasted through the
day. Though slightly warmer than those of Friday, afternoon
temperatures will remain below normal, with highs holding in the
low 70s to low 80s. Minimum relative humidity today will remain
above 50 percent, and winds will remain less than 10 mph. The
next chance for widespread wetting rainfall will be Monday night
through Tuesday night as another cold front triggers scattered
strong to severe thunderstorms, potentially in two rounds.
