Fire Weather Planning Forecast for SW VA...SE WV and NW NC
National Weather Service Blacksburg VA

.DISCUSSION...

Shower and thunderstorm chances look to remain isolated today;
however, more widespread chances look to return by Friday, and
continue through the weekend and into the early portion of next
week. These daily chances of showers and thunderstorms in addition
to a moist airmass remaining over the region should keep any fire
weather concerns to a minimum. Upper level ridging is expected to
nudge east by the weekend which may increase temperatures across
the area by the late weekend and into early next week; however,
these above average temperatures look to remain brief, with near
normal to slightly above normal temperatures returning by the
middle of next week. Overall, there are no fire weather concerns
at this time.
