Fire Weather Planning Forecast for SW VA...SE WV and NW NC
National Weather Service Blacksburg VA
212 PM EDT Mon May 11 2026

.DISCUSSION...

Going to dry out after a decent wetting rain for most.

Another front tracks in midweek with our next chance for
showers and storms.

Afterwards expect a warming trend into the weekend, with
temperatures above normal by Saturday.

By Friday, minimum RH's will generally be
between 20% to 35%, and above 40% for the mountains, as high
pressure settles in over the area. However, with the forecast
rainfall, there are no fire weather concerns at this time.
