Fire Weather Planning Forecast for SW VA...SE WV and NW NC
National Weather Service Blacksburg VA
303 AM EDT Tue Sep 15 2026

.DISCUSSION...

Drier weather expected through at least Wednesday with
lower humidity. Min RH values each afternoon are expected to fall
into the upper 30s to lower 40s percent range east of the mountains,
and mid 40 to low 50 percent range west of the Blue Ridge mountains.
An increasing chance of rain, along with more humid conditions
will return for late week and into the weekend; however, rain
chances look to remain low at this time, with no significant
upper level feature forecast to bring widespread rain at this
time.
Overall, there are no fire weather concerns at this time;
however,
continued dry and hot conditions may increase concerns without a
substantial wetting rain over the coming weeks.
