Fire Weather Planning Forecast for SW VA...SE WV and NW NC

.DISCUSSION...

A disturbance passing along the Ohio River Valley this afternoon
and evening will draw deeper moisture northward overtop the
cooler northeasterly air hugging the surface this morning. As
such, showers and a few thunderstorms will move from west to east
across the region beginning shortly before sunset through the
overnight period of tonight. Confidence in widespread wetting
rain is high through Saturday morning, though rainfall totals are
forecasted to be 0.25" or less for most. Widespread clouds today
will help maintain minimum relative humidity values in the 50 to
70 percent range across the Piedmont today, and in the 70 to 85
percent range across the mountains.
