National Weather Service United States Department of Commerce
Due to the impacts of the strong winds associated with the
remnants of Hurricane Helene, which moved through our region this
past Friday, power and phone line outages, as well as other
issues, have rendered one of our NOAA Weather Radios as
inoperative at the current time.

The radio impacted by these power and phone line outages are
located in Richlands, VA, namely NOAA Weather Radio WZ2543. We do not have an
estimated time to restoration of service for this transmitter
as the underlying issues are controlled by entities beyond our
control.

We apologize for any inconvenience that these outages may cause.
In the meantime, you can access similar weather broadcasts from
neighboring NOAA Weather Radios. Substitutes for Richlands include
NOAA Weather Radios located in Beckley (WXM71), Bristol (WXK47),
and Sand Mountain/Wythe County VA (WZ2500).
