Severe Thunderstorms and Heavy Rainfall Across the Central Plains and Central Appalachians

Severe thunderstorms producing damaging winds, heavy rainfall, hail and possibly a few tornadoes will continue through tonight across portions of Kansas and Oklahoma. Heavy rainfall will persist across the Central Appalachians through tonight, potentially leading to areas of flooding. The new WFO Shreveport Tropical Preparedness Tour is coming to Lufkin, TX, on Tuesday, July 25th.

Join us to discuss how tropical hazards don't just stop at the coast and how you can be prepared this hurricane season. During the event, you will have the opportunity to listen to NWS meteorologists discuss about the hazards that are generated by landfalling hurricanes and other tropical systems across the Four State Region. During this discussion, you will learn more about the 2023 Hurricane Season, hurricane forecasting, tropical meteorology and how all of this  can impact the local area we call home.
