Atmospheric River Continues Areas of Heavy Rain and Snow for California This Weekend

An atmospheric river will continue to bring gusty winds, moderate to heavy rainfall, and potential flooding to southern California and the southern Great Basin through Sunday. The new WFO Shreveport Tropical Preparedness Tour is coming to Lufkin, TX, on Tuesday, July 25th.

Join us to discuss how tropical hazards don't just stop at the coast and how you can be prepared this hurricane season. During the event, you will have the opportunity to listen to NWS meteorologists discuss about the hazards that are generated by landfalling hurricanes and other tropical systems across the Four State Region. During this discussion, you will learn more about the 2023 Hurricane Season, hurricane forecasting, tropical meteorology and how all of this  can impact the local area we call home.

The first talk will be held at Angelina College in Lufkin, TX at 6:30 PM CDT. We look forward to seeing you there.
