- An areawide freeze will occur overnight into the early morning
  hours on Tuesday.

- A gradual warmup will continue through most of the rest of the
  work week (temperatures in the upper 80s are likely by the end
  of the week).

- Dry conditions will persist, reintroducing drought development
  and wildfire potential through the weekend.

Winds are finally relaxing across the Four State Region, allowing
for some maximization of radiational cooling with only some
lingering high clouds holding back more time from the radiation
process. After the overnight freeze and continuing through the
rest of the week, is a very gradual warmup with no significant
chance of rain through next weekend. This is due to persistent
ridging with a ridge axis that shifts along and east of the
Mississippi River Valley by Wednesday, positioning southerly flow
and subsequent warm air advection across the Four State Region
into the weekend (mid-to upper 80s, even some 90s are not out of
the question by next Friday).

Long-range guidance is beginning to gain some certainty on the
next frontal passage by early next week as ridging breaks down. A
reprieve from near record 90-degree temperatures this weekend is
slowly becoming more likely next week. What remains much less
certain is any impactful convection or precipitation associated
with that frontal boundary as it approaches the area. /16/
