To kick off the weekend, expect afternoon highs in the 70s and 80s. Isolated rain chances are possible this afternoon in our far southwest. Better rain and storm chances will come tomorrow afternoon for areas west of I-35.
Widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected on Mother's Day, but the severe weather threat is low. Some storms could become strong with threats for hail, frequent lightning, and locally heavy rainfall. Highs will be in the 70s. Storms will be exiting the area to the east on Monday.
Looking ahead into next week, periods of showers/storms are expected as multiple storm systems move across the region. There will be a potential for severe storms including periods of heavy rain. Highs will mostly be in the 80s.
