Our next storm system will bring widespread clouds and rain to the North and Central Texas Friday night through Saturday. While rainfall amounts won't be much, largely under an inch, there will still be the potential for scattered thunderstorms, particularly east of the I-35 corridor. On Saturday, a few storms may be on the stronger side during the afternoon in the Brazos Valley. The strongest storms will pose the risk for frequent lightning and small hail.
Well below normal temperatures and unsettled weather will continue into the first part of next week. Periods of clouds and rain will help keep temperatures down and make for soggy conditions outdoors. Overnight temperatures will also be near or below freezing, with the coldest temperatures expected Monday night into Tuesday morning.
