Strong Atmospheric River Bringing Heavy Rain to the Pacific Northwest; Areas of Snow in the North-Central and Eastern U.S.

A strong atmospheric river will bring prolonged heavy rainfall along with gusty winds to the Pacific Northwest through much of this week. The heavy rainfall may lead to widespread urban and river flooding. Accumulating snow is expected over parts of the central Appalachians and Mid-Atlantic today as well as the Upper Midwest and the Upper Great Lakes this evening into Tuesday. Read More >

A chilly Monday morning is expected this morning, with wind chills the 20s. Cool weather will persist the rest of the day thanks to yesterday's cold front, with afternoon highs mostly in the 50s. Chilly temperatures are expected again tonight, but most locations will remain above freezing in the mid to upper 30s.
Mild weather will prevail much of the week, as above normal temperatures return to the region. Our next cold front will arrive on Friday, with cooler weather expected over the weekend. There will be no chances for rain through the weekend.
