...NWS Damage Survey for 05/25/2016 Thunderstorm Wind and Tornado
Event in Yuma County Colorado...


.Overview...A strong supercell thunderstorm moved across the northern
portion of Yuma county on the evening of May 24th. Numerous reports of 
damage were received...as well as reports of at least one brief tornado. 

A damage survey team was dispatched to the area and found a large swath
of damage between county road 45 and 47 running from the Washington/Yuma 
county line to county road Q. While a tornado was sighted in the area 
the damage found appears to be consistent with straight line winds associated
with a strong rear flank downdraft.

Most significant damage found was approximately a mile of double wooden
electric transmission lines broken along county road E between road 46 and
47. In addition...significant damage was observed at a hog farm 8 miles NE 
of Yuma
